“Celebration is a vital part of human connection” writes Meredith Richmond of Ceremonies by Meredith in her feature “A Human Desire”, in Issue No. 2. She describes the power of presence and intention she experiences when officiating intimate weddings and elopements for adventurous couples all over the Tahoe region.
Meredith is a gorgeous individual. She exudes serenity, love, and beauty in everything she does. Her award-winning officiating services are highly sought after in the area, and she specializes in sacred, nature-filled, personal ceremonies.
We developed the concept for this article around the magic someone in Meredith’s position would experience during their work. Guiding two individuals and uniting them in marriage under the powerscape of nature must carry some kind of pure energy that can only be replicated in such circumstances. We wanted to hear the stories that touched a seasoned wedding officiant to the heart, the moments of magic that not even the most experienced professional could have planned for, and the purest words of love that only two lovers secluded in nature could share.
Meredith did not disappoint. Over our first shared brunch since quarantine, she candidly and beautifully carried us away with her words, describing the incredible witnessing she experiences from her vantage point. After over an hour of listening to her stories and favorite memories, it became clear that this feature would have to come from Meredith herself. She lovingly obliged, and what was submitted for her feature is some of the most sincere and beautiful world illustration ever published in a bridal magazine (in our humble opinion).
We can only hope to continue to fill the Love Stories section of the magazine with the passion, purity, and poetry that Meredith contributed to us for Issue No 2. Read her words for yourself and let us know what swept you away!
